National Wellness Gathering for Indian Residential School Survivors and Indian Residential School (IRS) Resolution Health Support Workforce

From February 13 to 15th, 2024, the National Gathering for Indian Residential School Survivors (IRSS), co-hosted by First Peoples Wellness Circle (FPWC) and the Assembly of First Nations (AFN), transformed the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver, BC, into a vibrant hub of connection, reflection, and healing. The gathering saw an incredible turnout, maxing out the venue capacity with 999 registrations and over 750 attendees. The event gained more traction in person with walk-ins, demonstrating the increasing interest and need for more IRSS-focused events, gatherings, and support. FPWC and AFN hosted the National Gathering for IRSS on the beautiful traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
