Wiidooktaadwin Indigenous Mentorship Initiatives (WIMI, Nipissing University)

The WIMI program (Anishinaabemowin = “helping one another”) links Indigenous university students, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers with Indigenous youth in local secondary schools. Through culturally grounded visits, teachings, and activities (emphasizing gift‑sharing, relationality, and leadership) the program nurtures belonging, identity, and peer mentorship within an Indigenous context.
